The Health Museum is a nonprofit science museum that was created in response to the polio epidemic that spread throughout the US in the 1940s and 1950s. With donations from the Victory Over Polio vaccination campaign and funds from local organizations, a series of permanent health exhibits that were open to the public were created to fulfill a need for quality health information and education. Fifty years later, The Health Museum continues its mission to inspire wonder and curiosity about health, medical science, and the human body.
When you choose to donate you support our dedication to serve as a community resource that provides relevant, accessible information and empowers us to do our part to help our Greater Houston Area. We hope you will make a gift today to support our exhibits and educational programs that uphold our mission and vision to empower healthier living.
