John Arcidiacono
President & Chief Executive OfficerJohn Arcidiacono has 30 years of senior marketing experience helping companies build awareness and drive revenue. Before coming to The Health Museum, he served as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Before joining MD Anderson, he was Chief Marketing Officer at Stewart Title and was a member of the National Sales Council and Crisis Management Team.
John is a native Houstonian and was blessed with four children. His family was forever changed 20 years ago by a fatal car crash when his oldest son, Johnny, lost his life; and his second son, Christopher, sustained a traumatic brain injury. The accident has impacted the family in many ways and drives much of their community service. Currently, John serves on the board of The Institute of Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) Foundation as Christopher spent time there after the accident, and they are forever committed to this organization’s success. John has always been active in the schools and activities of his children and the community at large. Most recently he has raised money for various charities including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Houston Botanic Garden, The Women’s Fund, and Bo’s Place. John is an active sportsman, marathoner, and cyclist – putting into action the healthy habits the museum promotes.
Becky Seabrook, MS
Senior Director of Guest EngagementBecky Seabrook has over 20 years of experience in non-profit and museum management, program design, and best practices in science education and e-learning. She currently serves as Senior Director of Guest Engagement at The Health Museum, a position that oversees education, exhibitions, strategic partnerships, and guest services. Her role includes the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of museum experiences. While at the Museum, she has grown local and regional collaborations with organizations in the public and private sectors that inspire wonder and curiosity about health, medical science, and the human body in the Greater Houston community and beyond.
Becky serves on the Executive Board of the American Leadership Forum – Gulf Coast Region and the National Association for Museum Exhibition (NAME). She has presented at national and state conferences for the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the Association of Science & Technology Centers (ASTC), the Visitor Studies Association (VSA), the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching (CAST), and the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance. Becky graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and an M.S. in Biomechanics from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
Peggy Rhoads
Senior Director of DevelopmentPeggy Rhoads’ career in nonprofit service has spanned nearly 30 years. She has extensive experience in board relations, major gifts, special events, annual fund campaigns, grant writing and management, and volunteer management. Before joining the Health Museum, she served as Senior Director of Development at Genesys Works Houston, where she raised funds to support hundreds of under-resourced high school students in skills training and paid internships at 50+ corporations throughout Houston. She previously served in lead fundraising roles at the American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, the Sunshine Kids Foundation, and Montrose Clinic (now known as Legacy Community Health Services).
Peggy is a graduate of Rice University and a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She is a proud member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and currently serves on AFP’s Global Ethics Committee. She is a graduate of Leadership Houston and Fort Bend Leadership for Nonprofit Excellence. She has volunteered with many worthy causes over the years and has served on the boards and committees of Leadership Houston, Psophonia Dance Company, A+ Unlimited Potential Charter School, and Power Tools for Nonprofits.
Nancy Gall, CPA
ControllerNancy Gall’s 30+ years in accounting spans public accounting, industry accounting and consulting. She started her career at Arthur Andersen where she did both audits and taxes for privately-held companies and went on to a controllership position with a meat-processing company in Cleveland, OH. Working for Caterpillar Industrial/ Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America, she held numerous positions: staff tax and cost accountant, dealer finance representative for the territory of Mexico and South America, marketing manager for statistical data, accounting manager for financial accounting and company consultant in the President’s Office. Before coming to the Museum, she worked as the Chief Financial Officer at a metal fabrication company in Houston. She also provided consulting/accounting services to start-up companies and smaller businesses needing assistance with their accounting processes.
Nancy is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, where she graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor of Business Degree in Accounting. She transferred to Houston with Mitsubishi Caterpillar in 1994 with her family. She served as Treasurer for 10 years while on the Board of Katy Youth Soccer Club, was a member of the National Charity League with both of her daughters and volunteered for many organizations while serving with NCL for nine years. Nancy likes to stay active and healthy and will willingly go with you on a walk, jog, bike ride or roller-blade!
Kristi Birdsell
Human Resource ManagerKristi Birdsell is a dedicated and accomplished Human Resource Manager who thrives in fostering a positive and productive work environment. With over 25 years of experience in the HR field, Kristi has a proven track record of effectively managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and organizational development. Kristi obtained her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and started her career in the hospitality industry. Kristi has served as a director on two different leadership teams in the hospitality industry where she spent 25 years recruiting, coaching, and supporting thousands of team members. She brings extensive knowledge of customer service and support to the Museum.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Kristi has a passion for raising funds for school sports and supporting and creating programs and events to make this happen. She has spent over 12 years supporting and leading athletic booster clubs at her daughters’ schools. She spent 4 years raising money for Gentry Jr. High’s Boys and Girls athletics and 8 years at Ross S. Sterling High School serving on the Volleyball Booster Club’s Executive Board as Vice President, President, and Treasurer.
