  • SCHOOLS: (public, private, homeschool - a school official must sponsor all entries)
    Elementary (grades K-5)
    Middle (grades 6-8)
    High school (grades 9-12)
Each school team must have their entry sponsored by a school official.
  • OPEN:
Any individual, group, organization or business that is not a school group (above). Scouts, church groups, bowling leagues, families, neighbor teams, etc.
A parent or guardian must sponsor all entries for those participating under the age of 18.
May use your own organization's logos, trademarks or taglines as decoration but may not have advertising, including any other logos, flyers, giveaways or additional signage as part of or with your display.

Size and Display:

  • Entries should be life-sized, 4-6 feet tall and fit within a 2' x 2' footprint.
  • Skeletons must be able to sit or stand without assistance. For seated skeletons, participants must provide their own seating as part of the display, and for standing skeletons, participants must ensure that their skeleton will remain standing on its own for the duration of the display.
  • No props or materials of any kind will be available onsite at The Health Museum nor will The Health Museum take responsibility for the stability of the skeletons.
  • Entries must be tastefully rendered for public viewing of all ages. Questionable or non-relevant material or subject matter will result in disqualification at the discretion of The Health Museum exhibit committee.
  • Entries that do not meet the requirements may be rejected. However, we are open to creativity so please call if you have questions about your content.

  • Paper mâché, wire, plaster casting materials, duct tape, milk jugs... Feel free to experiment with various materials or stay with the tried and true - it's up to you!
  • Each skeleton can include props and decorations to help create the theme.
  • Use ideas on the internet and add your own twist - many websites have great DIY ideas for skeletons!
  • See here for instructions on a paper mâché skeleton, or use a life-size skeleton such as this one
