What a night! The 2024 Mysterious Worlds Gala was a dazzling display of community, generosity, and a shared passion for health. More than 300 guests filled the ballroom at Hotel ZaZa to celebrate our honoree Dr. Peter Hotez and enjoy cocktails, dinner, live auction, dancing, and a splash of mystery. The energy was palpable as everyone came together to celebrate The Health Museum’s mission and success. From our festive Mystery Box fundraiser to our “hidden” dance floor and a special surprise guest to kick off the dancing, there was something fun for everyone.
Together with the incredibly generous support of our wonderful sponsors and underwriters, Chair Erica Littlejohn Burnette and Auction Co-chairs Dr. James Flowers and Robin French raised a record $420,000 in support of The Health Museum’s unique exhibitions and hands-on programming, which serves more than 90,000 children and adults each year. The ever-charismatic KUHF Radio Host, Ernie Manouse, served as our emcee for the evening, guiding us through a night of fun and philanthropy. A special shout-out to our lead sponsor The Faykus Foundation, as well as the amazing donors who matched every dollar raised during Fund The Mission – their innovative gesture energized the crowd and helped us exceed our goal.

Testimonial Highlights
Two of our young and inspiring students, Duro Dina and Aleena Khan, graciously shared their experiences with The Health Museum. Through their stories, we see how the museum significantly impacted their lives and their pursuit of a path in medical science.
“I’ve been privileged to attend the summer camp programs at The Health Museum since I was about five years old. As a younger kid, I remember being so excited to share with my mother everything I learned for the day at camp. Over the years, the museum’s educational programs have enlightened me more and more each and every year.”
Duro Dina,
Global Teen Medical Summit Participant, 2023
“My internship gave me to connections with PhDs, the medical center, and hands-on trainings from various aspects of the science field. I wish to continue contributing to the museum in the same way it has done for me, both now and in the future, as it was this place that truly solidified my passion for the medical field, and it is this place I hope to return to in my pursuit.”
Aleena Khan,
DeBakey Cell Lab Intern, 2024
