2024 Global Teen Medical Summit

Despite the unexpected visit from Hurricane Beryl, our 2024 Global Teen Medical Summit carried on successfully. Thanks to the unwavering commitment of The Health Museum staff and our partners from the Texas Medical Center, we were able to provide a truly immersive and enriching experience for our students.

Highlights from the Summit

Students had the opportunity to visit some of the top medical facilities in the area. The tours gave everyone an inside look at the day-to-day operations of the bustling medical center. The lectures offered insights from industry experts on how to prepare themselves for medical school and grow into medical professionals. Students even got their hands dirty (literally) in our hands-on practices such as organ dissections, suturing, and CPR practices.

“I want to be a neurosurgeon when I grow up. I really enjoyed the speeches given by the professors and experts. Because they really helped me to understand what a medical career looks like and what I really want to be when I grow up.”

On the last day of the summit, our students blew us away with their group presentations which proposed solutions to the overuse of plastics in the medical industry. Their ideas were not only creative, but also showed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the healthcare sector. We can’t wait to see these bright minds shape the future of medicine!

“I came here thinking doctors are smart and nerdy. But then I realized that doctors are humans too, and you really need an inner passion to serve your community. That’s something I will carry with me into the future.”
