The OUTBREAK: Epidemics In a Connected World exhibit has gained attention from across the Greater Houston area. This exhibit is from the National Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and has been featured at The Health Museum since October 2019. Upon opening, Director of Guest Experience Becky Seabrook curated the addition of epidemics that were specific to the local community including the Bubonic Plague that landed on Galveston shores in the 1920s, the Victory Over Polio campaign in the 1940s and 1950s, and the HIV/AIDS epidemic, which began in Houston in the 1980s.
