2023 Global Teen Medical Summit
July 10-14, 2023

Open to high school students in grades 9-12, this five-day summit is a great opportunity to explore challenges and solutions facing modern day medicine with leading experts from the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. Partnering with some of the brightest minds in medicine today, the GTMS will provide unparalleled access to and interaction with medical thought leaders at the intersection of research, clinical practice, policy, and entrepreneurial business practices. The experience will include a mix of conversations, visits to cutting-edge labs, a chance to stretch yourself with ethical case studies and a group-based design challenge, as well as great food and evening social activities to get to know the other students in the program. Students who choose the overnight option will stay close to the Museum.

The Health Museum is an interactive science center in Houston, TX. Our mission is to foster wonder and curiosity about health, medicine, and the human body. We are a member institution of the Texas Medical Center and a Smithsonian Affiliate.

Dr. Peter Hotez
Dr. Peter J. Hotez

Dr. Hotez is an internationally-recognized physician-scientist in neglected tropical diseases and vaccine development. As the co-director of the Texas Children’s Center for Vaccine Development, he leads a team on the development of new vaccines for infectious diseases, while advancing the access to vaccines in the United States and around the world.

Dr. Narula
Dr. Jagat Narula

Dr. Jagat Narula, MD, PhD, is a world-renowned physician-scientist and leader in academic medicine. His experience includes leading cardiology and cardiovascular imaging programs, as well as global health initiatives, conducting translational research that advances clinical care, and emphasizing heart disease prevention for patients.
