It’s no secret that the pandemic has taken a toll on parents. In a survey conducted earlier this year by the American Psychological Association, one in four adults drank more alcohol within the last year to manage their stress; the rate doubled among parents with children under the age of 7. Keeping this in mind, Vaughan Gilmore, LCSW, LCDC, will speak with parents on the impact parental alcohol use can have on families. She will also share information on how parents can talk to their children about their alcohol use, strategies for reducing their use and the consequences it can lead to, and how to model healthy alcohol use in front of their child - including setting boundaries with extended family members and friends.
